Cintel unveils new technology at IBC2007

20th August 2007 - Cintel, a leading provider of film scanning solutions, will be showcasing its latest technological advances at IBC this year and unveiling several products new to the global market on stand number 7.118.

At the top of the list is a brand-new Digital Servo System for the dataMill 4K scanner and Millennium 4K data-cine. The system features a custom-designed Servo Processor PCB which constantly monitors and recalculates servo information during the scanning process, adjusting the speed, velocity and tension of the film transport accordingly. The result is increased stability and improved throughput speed, allowing for realtime film transfers in SD and HD modes, up to 15fps in 2K Data mode as well as a very fast 4fps pin registration mode.

Cintel will be the only manufacturer showing a Kodak-calibrated scanner at IBC. This is the result of its collaboration with the company which saw it offer Kodak factory-calibration on all new diTTo 2K/4K scanners from June onwards. diTTo also now optionally ships with built-in Kodak Display Manager technology, which allows diTTo customers to pre-visualise precisely what scanned film will look like when printed on Kodak stock.

Following the introduction of the mechanical components at NAB earlier this year, the diTTo scanner will be shown running in its brand-new 16mm configuration. The machine will also be on show on the Pandora International stand (6.101), where it will be demonstrating tight workflow integration with Pandora's Revolution software-based image processor.

There are also two new additions to Cintel's innovative multistandard image manipulation and enhancement platform, imageMill. GRACE_SR takes one of the industry's most powerful Spatial Filter-based grain reduction tools and adds Recursive Filtering for the optimum reduction of video noise, making GRACE_SR the perfect solution for both noise and grain reduction. Coupled with the already available STEADY realtime image stabiliser, imageMill now offers even more stunning image processing capability than before in a single 1RU box.
