Vision QMD/X
SD & HD Production Switchers
The powerful, cost-effective, and intuitive Vision family of switchers continues to advance with the introduction of the QMD/X series of rack frames. The new ultra-compact 3 RU QMD chassis sets new records for design efficiency and engineering excellence by packing in up to 4 full M/Es, 8 channels of DVE and 48 inputs.

The QMD/X series of rack frame now offers 4 keyers per M/E and up to 6 keyers downstream. 2 keyers per M/E, and SD only versions are available at reduced cost.

Many applications that were previously space and cost limited to 1.5 or 2 M/Es can now be expanded to 3 or even 4 M/Es of video processing. Increasing the number of M/Es available to a production is currently even more affordable with our current “M/E for Free” promotion.

Also new for IBC are two new Vision control panels, the Vision 1M and Vision 2M, a new backsplash Aux Module, and a new ShotBox module.

OverDrive® Automated Production Control System
Ross Video will be showcasing version 7.0 of the market-leading OverDrive Automated Production Control System, which includes applications for News, Sports, Worship and Live Event productions. Version 7.0 increases the power and flexibility of the OverDrive system by adding MOS integration for graphic and video server systems, an enhanced Client / Server architecture, and sideCar - a compact remote control panel. Additional features include multiple user-programmable timers, Preview Custom Controls and the ability to enable or disable remote control of mixers or robotic cameras on-the-fly. New key features at IBC 2008 include support for the Vision QMD/X switcher family, including integration of internal MLE and Global Still Stores, mis-matched panel and frame configuration support - enables 1 or 2 MLE panels running 3 or 4 MLE frames, and several new enhancements for the RundownControl client and NRCS ActiveX plug-in.

SoftMetal Video Servers
SoftMetal is a line of Multi-Definition Video Servers designed for both production and master control applications. SoftMetal will launch version 3.0 software at IBC 2008 with many new features and enhancements.

SoftMetal version 3.0 offers enhanced workflow solutions for Apple Final Cut, Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premier editing systems as well as graphics applications such as Adobe Photoshop and After Effects, Auto Desk Maya and 3D Studio MAX.

Other key new features for SoftMetal include VBI and closed captioning support as well as support for full 16 channels of embedded audio per video channel. In version 3.0, file wrapper compatibility extends to include both QuickTime and MXF transcode and/or playout.

openGear Multi-Definition Terminal Equipment
openGear continues to expand with more than 16 partners, an impressive portfolio offering with over 100 core processing solutions for audio, video, and data, and industry recognition with four prestigious awards.

New for 2008 is the addition of a new 2RU 20-slot rackframe designed for high- density conversion and distribution applications.

Ross Video’s DashBoard Control System has also been expanded with the addition of DB-VIEW allowing customers to create customized logical views of signal paths.

openGear, the platform of choice, offers a variety of frames, solutions, and vendors all without having to compromise on a control infrastructure.

Ross Video continues to expand the openGear product offerings, complimenting the existing distribution and conversion line with the addition of a modular multi-definition switch, an Up / Down / Cross Converter with letter / pillar insertion and a down converter with distribution. New solutions for 2008 include an HD / SD audio mux, audio demux, an AES audio switch, an audio DAC, analog video distribution, video analog to digital conversion, Fiber interfaces, and a compliment of high end processing applications including a multi-definition keyer.
