SHOTOKU BROADCAST SYSTEMS’ LATEST BROADCAST ROBOTIC PEDESTAL TO MEET US MARKET AT NAB 2008

COMPACT, POWERFUL PEDESTAL EXTENDS BOUNDARIES OF TRADITIONAL ROBOTICS

Torrance, CA (February 6, 2008) – Shotoku Broadcast Systems, a well-established leader in both manual and robotic camera support, has revealed plans to introduce its innovative TRP-100 robotically controlled, next generation pedestal to the US market at NAB 2008. Naoki Ebimoto, president of Shotoku Broadcast Systems made the announcement from the Company’s US headquarters located in Torrance, California.

Ideal for all studio applications including news, sports, and current affairs, the easy-to-operate TRP-100 embodies Shotoku’s capacity for fast and smooth movements while maintaining accuracy and repeatability. Controlled by the innovative Shotoku TR-8T Control System, the TRP-100 pedestal allows full X, Y, and height camera movement in conjunction with conventional pan and tilt motion. The advanced navigation system is easily calibrated within seconds using a simple target-tile placed anywhere on the studio floor.

The pedestal’s pneumatically balanced, three-stage height mechanism is based upon the same high-performance sub-system used on the Company’s popular and award-winning manual pedestals such as the TP-80 and TP-90. Full manual operation, with or without power, is supported for all axis optimizing flexibility of use and easy maintenance.

Compact, yet powerful, the TRP-100 supports any camera configuration up to 220 lbs. (100Kgs) while gliding through 2.5 feet (750mm) of elevation at up to 1 foot (300mm) per second.

“We are pleased to bring this revolutionary new pedestal to our customers in the US,” declared Ebimoto. “We’ve incorporated all the benefits of our advanced manual pedestals into the TRP-100 to furnish an intelligently designed pedestal that further extends the already wide range of remote camera systems available from Shotoku.”

Dual level safety systems prevent collisions and compliment the more conventional bumper system that halts the robot when an obstruction is reached. A clear LCD touch panel display provides local information and status of the pedestal for easy diagnostics and configuration
