QuStream to display Cheetah, Integrity and new Cougar and Ocelot innovations at NAB 2009

New Cheetah products - The Cheetah MUX and DE-MUX video option cards are NEW product offerings which extend the range of the standard Cheetah DRS (distributed routing system) audio routing capability. The Cheetah MUX and DE-MUX provide fully integrated routing of embedded audio signals from the Cheetah Video router and support seamless inter-mixing of a wide variety of signal formats including Embedded Audio, MADI, balanced and unbalanced AES and analog signal formats in both synchronous and asynchronous forms. The system is compatible with Dolby-E and fully scalable starting with 64x64 in a single rack unit. The Cheetah MUX and DE-MUX video option cards each feature sixteen video channels per card. The Cheetah DE-MUX video input card can de-embed 128 separate audio channels from any of sixteen video channels on a single card and provide discrete audio signals to the other DRS Audio system elements. The Cheetah MUX video output card can seamlessly embed 128 individual external DRS audio from MADI, AES and analog sources into any of sixteen video outputs. Every DE-MUX video input card features Auto-EQ and every output features auto-Re-clocking to support SMPTE 259, SMPTE 292M and SMPTE 424M to 3Gbs. Input DE-MUX and Output MUX video cards can be added as needed to any Cheetah Video frame. The Cheetah MUX and DE-MUX video option cards extend the range of DRS Audio remedies like delay, gain, invert, swap and sum available in other standard DRS components to embedded audio in the Cheetah video frame. Operators can now select any audio source with full confidence without regard to the source origination. Whether AES, MADI, analog or embedded, all audio signals can be treated as one large flat audio switching plane.

Cheetah 3GEN NE Series 64x64, and 64x128 have been upgraded to support up to 3Gbit/s processing, enabling broadcasters to embrace 1080p as a worldwide mastering format. The Cheetah 3GEN NE Series is QuStream’s compact routing range for routing multi-rate HD, SDI, ASI, analog video, telemetry and AES/EBU Audio. The Cheetah 3GEN NE Series adds exceptional value by including the same high-level control and diagnostics features found in all other high-performance Cheetah routers. The Cheetah 3GEN NE Series also incorporates QuStream’s premium matrix redundant cross-point options that swap over in case of failure in live on-air situations or other critical distribution applications. Now, even the most budget-conscious installation can afford redundant routing which previously was only to be found in large and expensive routing switchers.

Other routing products include the COUGAR 3GEN 32x32 and 32x16 – with 32 video inputs and outputs in single rack unit and the OCELOT 3GEN 16x16 and 16x8 ranges. Both OCELOT models offer 16 video inputs with either eight or 16 outputs in a single rack unit. All units feature auto-EQ on inputs and auto re-clocking on all outputs. There is support for SMPTE 259M, SMPTE 292M and SMPTE 424M to 3Gbs and is compatible with 3500PRO and PERC2K and the full line of remote control panels.

Integrity 600 modular video and audio processing and distribution system offers high component density and high-level redundancy. The compact FRM603 chassis can accommodate up to 20 signal-processing cards in addition to the control/genlock boards, reducing system cost. Features include redundant power supply and optional redundant control plus a reference board for two power busses, two Ethernet busses, two reference signals to every card in the system and support for 3G 1080p (SMPTE 424M) signals. The midplane is unique with 3Gbit/s signal busses between two Star slots and all other boards as well as between adjacent boards. The Star board slots permit full bandwidth system integration through fiber or other transmission standards. All boards including video and audio DAs can receive or send signals to other boards via the midplane, which makes the Integrity 600 exceptionally powerful for processing, conversion and distribution. Two sets of fans with individual tachometers for early warning of potential fan failure are provided.

QuVIEW – is the latest system control GUI in the QuStream family with 10/100 Ethernet capabilities for controlling the Integrity 600 modular products platform via an IP network. Regardless of where the Integrity frames are located, QuVIEW can be used to monitor and control critical processing functions.
