Network Electronics Tracey Ford To Address Advances In Fiber Optic Transport

Salt Lake City, UT (October 11, 2007) -- Cameron Francis, Network Electronics Inc.’s CEO, announced today from US headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah, that Tracey Ford, strategic sales director for Network Electronics, will deliver a technical paper addressing advanced fiber optic transport solutions at the 35th Annual SBE22 Broadcast & Technical Expo to be held on October 16th at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY.

“The technology to transmit information has progressed from yesterday’s copper wire to today’s low-loss glass fiber optic systems that perform faster, farther and offer nearly unlimited bandwidth,” states Francis. “The emergence of high definition signals has driven the need for reliable and affordable long-distance fiber optic ‘backbone’ and transport solutions free of electromagnetic interference. We are delighted to share Tracey’s expertise and experience in this area with those seeking information about the advantages of optical transport.”

Ford’s paper, entitled “Fibre Theory and its use in Broadcasting” will define the limitations that exist between fibre and coax as transport mechanisms, delve into the direction broadcast formats are heading, and discuss how transport mediums impact quality.

Ford’s expertise in transporting 1080p 50/60 HD video over 3G-SDI single link connections is grounded in a career spanning more than two decades that includes a lengthy tenure at Nine Network in his native Australia where he gained valuable experience in the technical issues and products that drive the broadcasting side of the industry. Prior to joining Network Electronics, Ford served as product manager for the largest multi-product dealer in Australasia where his responsibilities and achievements prepared him for his current position as Network Electronics’ global strategic sales director for the internationally successful manufacturer.

“Tracey’s impressive resume’ bridges the gap between broadcasting and manufacturing and enables him to truly understand the challenges facing our industry today,” added Francis. “He has lived through the digital evolution from the inside out and can speak of solutions from a position of experience, knowledge and strength.”

Network Electronics manufactures Flashlink, a state-of-the-art optical platform for single and dual mode transport capable of transmitting most standard industry formats via CWDM (Coarse Wave Division Multiplexing), and DWDM (Dense Wave Division Multiplexing). At NAB 2007 the Company launched new router and optical solutions to enable the transport of HD providing many economic and technical advantages over utilizing two 1.5 Gbps links
